HELLO!! π
The start of a new year can cause you to reflect, which I really like. I've thought a lot about this blog this past year, but I CANNOT BELIEVE that my last post was OVER THREE YEARS ago!!!
So here I am, back in the saddle again. And all I can say is,,, HOLD ON FRIENDS!!
......seriously!!
Part of me feels as if I should pick up where my last entry left off, which was in July of 2013. Of course this feeling is being driven by the SWOCD (SomeWhatOCD), SDOO (SomeDaysOver-Organized), OA (OverAchier) living and thriving (eek!) within me. Guess what?!? I'm pushing that SWOCD-SDOO-OA aside and starting exactly where I want to! Ha! How's that for a Fresh Start to the New Year? π
I will say that 2016 brought with it the end of my wonderful, terrific and incredibly satisfying (yet somewhat frustrating!) work for the non-profit I told you about in my last post. The journey was amazing and my heart holds so many wonderful memories of my time there.
My husband and I moved our family to "the country" in 2014. My husband, mind you, had been working on talking me into this idea since...well, probably since about the moment we met thirteen years ago. (He grew up in a small town.) I grew up in the city, and though I love the quaintness of small towns, I'm a somewhat private person (really, I am!), so the thought of everyone knowing everyone's business in a small town didn't really entice me. But, when we began raising kids in the city, I really did some soul searching (and research!) on small-town living. It didn't take much more than that to get me to start looking at properties outside of town.
Flash forward to today and we are LπVING "country life". I use the quotation marks because we are barely out of town, and only 16 and a half minutes from the nearest WalMart, so I don't necessarily feel as "out in the country" as some of the places we looked at. All that aside,..we do have some land and we are having fun every day as we add little by little to our little house on the hill.
Here's to the New Year!
